The Council of Canadian Innovators is proud to welcome Evertz Microsystems and CEO Romolo Magarelli to Canada’s growing community of leading technology companies advancing digital infrastructure across both the public and private sectors.

Headquartered in Burlington, Ontario, Evertz is a global leader in high-performance media technology, specializing in video transport, cloud-based workflows, and real-time streaming solutions. Its platforms support some of the world’s top broadcasters, streamers, and digital content providers.

Beyond media, Evertz is advancing sovereign Canadian-made solutions in defense, public safety, border security, and education, delivering capabilities in situational awareness, C2, drone operations, and AI-driven video intelligence. Its technologies also support modernization in airports, transit hubs, and smart classrooms, enhancing how people move, learn, and stay secure.

Romolo Magarelli serves as CEO of Evertz Microsystems. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a publicly traded enterprise serving customers globally while maintaining a strong base in Canadian innovation and engineering.

“Evertz is building the infrastructure behind the digital economy,” said CCI President Benjamin Bergen. “Their global reach, technical strength, and commitment to building in Canada make them a standout in the next generation of Canadian innovators.”

Since 2015, the Council of Canadian Innovators has been dedicated to supporting Canada’s high-growth technology companies, working with government leaders to co-develop strategies that unlock the country’s innovation potential.
