CCI Statement on 2025 Québec Cabinet Shuffle

Today in Québec City, Premier Francois Legault announced significant changes to his cabinet. On behalf of our members in Québec and right across Canada, CCI’s Director of Québec Affairs Jean-Francois Harvey issued the following statement:

"In today’s cabinet shuffle Premier Legault kept in place his key economic team. Premier Legault has made innovation and homegrown economic development a priority for his government, but with one year to go to the next election, now is the time for this core team to deliver on their strategies.

‍"For innovators, highly skilled global talent is vital for fuelling the growth of domestic companies. The government’s moves to restrict immigration are concerning, and we hope that the new higher education minister will consult with businesses to better understand the important role that international students play in future economic growth. 

‍"Quebeckers should judge success or failure of this government based on whether we are all experiencing prosperity, and stability in a volatile time."
