Mathieu Boulianne

Mathieu Boulianne is the Co-Founder and CEO of Aviron, an applied AI company transforming finance and procurement operations through agentic automation. A former investment banker turned tech entrepreneur, Mathieu brings over a decade of experience bridging financial strategy and deep technology expertise and deployment know-how.

Before Aviron, he co-founded StreamingFast (formerly dfuse), a blockchain data infrastructure company recognized as one of the global leaders in blockchain indexing. Incubated at Diagram Ventures in Montreal and backed by investors including Multicoin Capital and Intel Capital, StreamingFast was acquired by The Graph in a landmark $60M deal, successfully exiting investors while securing a multi-year contract to continue core protocol development.

Following the acquisition, Mathieu and his co-founder Alexandre Bourget continued building at the intersection of data infrastructure and AI, co-incubating four ventures with Diagram Ventures and investing in more than fifteen startups. His leadership blends deep corporate finance expertise with a strong understanding of how advanced technology can reshape enterprise workflows.

Earlier in his career, Mathieu served as Vice President in Investment Banking at National Bank of Canada, advising CFOs and finance leaders across multiple industries and products. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours in Investment Management) from McGill University, with studies at the City University of Hong Kong.

Today, through Aviron, Mathieu is focused on advancing Canada’s competitiveness by bringing practical, transformative AI to the companies and institutions that power its economy.
