CCI and the Canadian Shield Institute Welcome New Digital Designer

March 23, 2026

The Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI) and the Canadian Shield Institute are pleased to welcome Rea Roshni as Digital Designer, a shared role that will support both organizations’ visual communications and digital presence.

Across CCI and the Canadian Shield Institute, strong design plays an important role in how ideas are communicated, how programs are experienced, and how audiences engage with events, policy, and thought leadership. In this role, Rea will help shape and maintain visual identity across a wide range of materials, supporting clearer communications and stronger storytelling.

“Strong design is a critical part of how organizations communicate clearly and create meaningful experiences for their audiences,” said Gabriella Boulos, Vice President of Programming at the Council of Canadian Innovators. “Rea brings a thoughtful approach to visual identity and user experience, with a clear understanding of how good design can help ideas land more effectively. Her work will strengthen how CCI presents its programming, convenes leaders, and connects members to the conversations shaping Canada’s innovation economy.”

Rea is a designer focused on the intersection of visual identity, clarity, and communication. Her work is grounded in the belief that strong design should not only look compelling, but also help people better understand and engage with information. She prioritizes the end-user experience and brings a sharp understanding of how audiences interact with content in fast-moving digital environments.

A graduate of the University of Waterloo, Rea began her career in Kitchener’s fast-growing education technology sector. As a former Senior Designer at ApplyBoard, she led campaign identities from early concept through to launch, helping build cohesive and effective creative across major initiatives. She now brings that experience to her work supporting both CCI and the Canadian Shield Institute, where she contributes to the strength, accessibility, and consistency of each organization’s communications and programming.

“Rea’s work reflects a strong understanding of how visual identity can support clearer, more accessible communications,” said James McLeod, Director of Communications at the Canadian Shield Institute. “She brings valuable experience designing for digital audiences and building materials that are both engaging and effective. Her role across both organizations will help strengthen how we communicate our work and support the initiatives and programming that matter to our communities.”

Rea’s arrival adds creative capacity across both organizations at a time of growing activity in programming, communications, and public engagement. Her role will help strengthen how CCI and the Canadian Shield Institute present their work, connect with audiences, and support their respective missions through high-quality digital design.

ABOUT THE COUNCIL

Founded in 2015 by Canada’s most successful technology CEOs, CCI aims to amplify their voices in the public policy development process around innovation, countering the dominance of foreign multinationals and other entities not focused on Canadian economic growth. CCI’s CEOs lead Canadian-based innovation firms in sectors such as Healthtech, Cleantech, Fintech, Cyber, and ICT, driving commercialization of intellectual property, generating jobs and wealth, making investments, and engaging in philanthropy. We advocate on their behalf for government strategies that increase their access to skilled talent, strategic capital, and new customers, as well as expanded freedom to operate for their global pursuits of scale.
