CCI Response to the 2025 Throne Speech

Earlier today, King Charles III delivered the Speech from the Throne, outlining the government's priorities and policy direction for the new session of Parliament. In response, CCI President Benjamin Bergen issued the following statement on behalf of our members:

"Today’s Throne Speech set the tone for what we hope will be a serious period of economic policymaking focused on productivity, innovation, and sovereignty. These are the pillars Canada must strengthen if we’re going to be competitive and prosperous in the years ahead.

"For Canada’s high-growth companies, words must now turn into action. Canadians across the country are looking for bold leadership from this government, specifically strategies that match ambition with execution, and that treat innovation as a national priority. This is the only way to build a Canadian economy that sells high-value goods globally, generating wealth and prosperity for Canadians.

"At the Council of Canadian Innovators, we will be watching closely to ensure the government follows through on the commitments laid out today. Our members are ready to work with Cabinet ministers and MPs to ensure their 'mandate to innovate' is achieved and reflects the needs of all Canadians and the opportunities that lie ahead."
