CCI Response to the B.C. Cabinet Shuffle
July 17, 2025
Today in Victoria, B.C. Premier David Eby announced changes to his cabinet, including key economic development roles. In response to the shuffle. CCI Director of BC Affairs Kiersten Enemark issued the following statement on behalf of our members:
"CCI members in British Columbia have worked productively with Premier David Eby’s government, and we are looking forward to engaging with Ravi Kahlon in his role as Minister of Jobs and Economic Growth. We are also excited to get to work with Rick Glumac in his role as Minister of State for AI and New Technologies.
"In our 2026 pre-budget submission, CCI called on government to:
- Ensure that government procurement dollars support homegrown companies wherever possible, while also delivering vital services that the government needs
- Develop value-add strategies for major projects, so that homegrown technology companies are embedded in these major economic undertakings
- Improve access to international talent for B.C. headquartered companies, to help propel their growth.
"We are excited to work with Minister Kahlon, Minister Glumac and the rest of the B.C. cabinet to create the conditions for a stronger and more vibrant innovation ecosystem in the province."
