CCI Welcomes 3DBioFibR to Our National Network of Innovators

July 18, 2025

The Council of Canadian Innovators is pleased to welcome Halifax-based 3DBioFibR Inc. and CEO Kevin Sullivan as the newest members of our national network of high-growth technology companies.

3DBioFibR develops biopolymer fibers such as collagen for use in tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, defense, and sustainable materials. Their dry-spinning process produces fibers that recapitulate the structure of their natural counterparts and can be used in cellular scaffolds, surgical materials, and other industrial applications.

Under Kevin Sullivan’s leadership, the company recently raised $3 million to expand its platform and create the quality management systems required for medical applications.. Sullivan brings a background in immunology, microbiology, and biotech commercialization.

“3DBioFibR is building valuable technical capacity in an emerging field,” said CCI President Benjamin Bergen. “They’re a good example of how Canadian companies are contributing to the future of health and advanced manufacturing.”

Since 2015, the Council of Canadian Innovators has been the business voice for high-growth technology companies, working closely with government leaders to develop policies that strengthen Canada’s innovation economy.
