CCI Welcomes Tuhk to Our National Network of Innovators
September 2, 2026
The Council of Canadian Innovators is proud to welcome Tuhk and Chief Executive Officer Andre Edelbrock to our growing national network of Canadian technology companies.
Headquartered in Toronto with a fully remote Canadian team, Tuhk is building the collaboration infrastructure the payments industry has needed for decades — connecting banks, merchants, and other ecosystem partners around real-time, shared data instead of the siloed systems that have kept them apart.
Tuhk stops false disputes before they become costly chargebacks by connecting the necessary parties at the moment of cardholder first contact. This protects merchant revenue, enhances issuer efficiency, and improves the health of the payments ecosystem for everyone involved. And this is just the beginning.
The vision for the Tuhk network is to solve a host of problems plaguing the industry by breaking down long-standing communication barriers — not only for debit and credit card payments, but for all forms of payment in all corners of the globe.
"We didn't start Tuhk to build a better version of what already exists — we started it because this industry has been solving the wrong problem for twenty years. Every fraud case, every wrongly declined transaction, every disputed charge is the same failure wearing a different mask — and the people who could stop it in time can't reach each other. We built Tuhk to close that gap permanently. This is the fight I've spent my career preparing for, and we're just getting started,” said Andre Edelbrock, Chief Executive Officer of Tuhk.
Tuhk is backed by strategic investors Lloyds Banking Group and Capital One Ventures, alongside FINTOP Capital, a US-based leading fintech-focused venture firm. Lloyds Banking Group and Capital One are also anchor customers on the Tuhk network — two of the most influential banks in their respective markets — validating both the technology and the commercial model behind it.
Tuhk is led by Andre Edelbrock, one of Canada’s most experienced fintech entrepreneurs, along with his co-founders Christopher Bailey, Trevor Clarke and Heather Lamont — each a successful entrepreneur in their own right. Prior to founding Tuhk, Andre founded Ethoca, a payments fraud intelligence company acquired by Mastercard in 2019. He later served as Executive Vice President of Cybersecurity and Intelligence at Mastercard, helping scale fraud prevention and security capabilities across global markets.
“Financial crime thrives in the gaps between institutions. Tuhk is closing those gaps — stopping false disputes at the source and restoring trust across the payments ecosystem. That’s exactly the kind of Canadian technology the global market needs,” said Patrick Searle, Chief Executive Officer, Council of Canadian Innovators
Since 2015, the Council of Canadian Innovators has been dedicated to supporting Canada’s high-growth technology companies, working with government leaders to co-develop strategies that strengthen Canadian innovation, productivity, and long-term economic resilience.
