Five Questions with Vive Crop Protection Co-Founder & CEO Darren Anderson

Darren Anderson, Co-Founder & CEO of Vive Crop Protection, joined CCI Chief Executive Officer Patrick Searle for a conversation about agriculture, food security, regulatory efficiency, and why Canada has a major opportunity to lead in ag tech.

Darren explained how Vive Crop Protection is using nanotechnology to help farmers protect crops from insects, weeds, and diseases while improving performance, sustainability, and productivity.

The conversation also explored why food security is national security, and how Canada can strengthen its agricultural sector by reshoring more parts of the supply chain, improving domestic crop protection capacity, and making the country a better place to develop, test, and launch new agricultural technologies.

Darren also spoke about the importance of a faster, more predictable regulatory system that helps innovators bring new products to Canadian growers first. For Canada to win in agriculture, he argued, the country needs to move decisively, support companies building real capabilities here at home, and make ag tech a sector where Canada leads globally.
