CCI Welcomes Ideon Technologies to Our National Network of Innovators

The Council of Canadian Innovators is proud to welcome Ideon Technologies and Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Gary Agnew to our growing national network of Canadian technology companies.

Based in Richmond, British Columbia, Ideon Technologies uses the energy from supernova explosions in space to image deep beneath the Earth’s surface. The company uses its advanced suite of proprietary data-generation hardware, software, Al -powered services, and multi-physics fusion to help mining companies identify, map, characterize, and monitor mineral deposits and subsurface features with confidence. Ideon’s work reduces risk and cost of traditional methods, while saving time, optimizing return, and minimizing environmental impact across the mining value chain. This is accelerating the world’s transition to low-impact mining and transforming how companies recover the critical minerals needed for clean energy, advanced manufacturing, and economic security.

Ideon is led by Gary Agnew, who has served as Co-Founder and CEO since 2020. Under his leadership, the company has grown its technology and expanded its work with mining companies around the world. Before joining Ideon, Gary held senior leadership roles at Finning, where he managed industrial technology services and operations internationally.
