CCI Welcomes Qu Data Centres to Our National Network of Innovators
June 17, 2026
The Council of Canadian Innovators is proud to welcome Qu Data Centres and Chief Executive Officer James Beer to our national network of high-growth technology companies.
Qu Data Centres is a Toronto-based Canadian data centre company operating nine facilities across Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto, and London, Ontario. The company serves more than 750 organizations across sectors including government, healthcare, energy, financial services, and other industries that rely on secure and dependable digital infrastructure.
At a time when demand for data centres is growing quickly, Qu stands apart as one of Canada’s few truly Canadian-owned and operated data centre platforms. The company operates entirely on Canadian soil, under Canadian rules, with Canadian staff and leadership. Its facilities are built to support the growing needs of Canadian organizations, including those using artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies.
James Beer is the Chief Executive Officer of Qu Data Centres, bringing nearly 30 years of leadership experience across data centres, cloud, and cybersecurity. He has led major infrastructure projects, national teams, and business growth efforts across North America. He also recently appeared before the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry and Technology to speak about AI opportunities, risks, and regulation in Canada’s strategic industries.
“Canada’s economic future will depend on secure digital infrastructure that is built, operated, and controlled here at home,” said CCI Chief Executive Officer Patrick Searle. “Qu Data Centres is helping provide that foundation for Canadian organizations at a time when data, computing power, and AI capacity are becoming central to economic growth and national resilience.”
Since 2015, the Council of Canadian Innovators has been dedicated to supporting Canada’s high-growth technology companies, working with government leaders to co-develop strategies that unlock the country’s innovation potential.
