Dana O'Born

Chief Strategy Officer

Dana O’Born is the Chief Strategy Officer at the Council of Canadian Innovators (CCI), a national business council representing more than 175 of Canada’s fastest-growing technology-intensive companies. In this role, she leads CCI’s long-term strategy and policy agenda, with a focus on ensuring Canadian-headquartered innovators can compete and scale in the global economy. As Chief Strategy Officer, Dana guides the Council’s advocacy to advance and help align CCI’s policy, research, and member engagement efforts around a coherent vision for Canada’s innovation economy. Dana has spent nearly a decade at CCI driving strategy and advocacy nationally.

In addition to her role at CCI, Dana is the Managing Partner of Signa Strategies, a newly launched independent strategic advisory firm founded to provide personalized government relations and public-affairs support to Canadian-headquartered technology companies.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, and raised in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Dana holds a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University, an LL.B from the University of Edinburgh, and a Master’s of Business and Law from Bucerius University in Hamburg, Germany. In her free time, she serves on the board of Cycle Toronto and channels her passion for fitness into teaching spin classes.
